Ms Rebekah Gosling

Rebekah became aware of the benefits of Pilates whilst dancing professionally for over 15 years, where she performed in theatres, casinos, hotels and cruise ships, around the world, retiring from the stage in Las Vegas in 2006.

Rebekah's journey into Pilates began in the area of rehabilitation after she sustained a back injury in 1997. As a direct result of a structured and intense Pilates Rehabilitation Program she was able to resume her dance career. This experience strengthened her belief in the philosophy and merits of Pilates and she began to take an interest in gaining formal qualifications.

Whilst touring she received her mat class certification and a few years later completed a 450 hour classical mat and machine course through Core Dynamics, Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA. The program was designed by 2nd generation teacher Michele Larsson, and follows the teachings of the classical Pilates Method as taught by Eve Gentry, who was a student, model and teacher for Joseph Pilates himself from 1945 until 1968, when she moved to Santa Fe.

Rebekah considers herself extremely fortunate to have been taught by those who many regard as the 'gurus' of the industry.

"I owe my understanding of the Pilates Method to Michele Larsson, Ruth Alpert and Celia Hulton of Core Dynamics Santa Fe, New Mexico, U.S.A. Also, to Mark Trudeau of Quantum Fitness Pilates in Washington D.C, certified through the Physical Mind Institute in N.Y.C and former ballet dancer with ballet companies all over the world.

I also gained a wealth of experience apprenticing at 'Taylor Made Pilates' teaching under chiropractor Dr. Mark Taylor for 2 years in Las Vegas. It's where I was able to fine tune my skill at properly assessing line and movement. It was a natural progression from my dance career, continuing to train my eye to properly assess the postural needs of the client. Working together with Dr. Taylor (certified by Stott Pilates in Canada) and massage therapists and instructors trained through other Pilates organizations, gave me a balanced perspective on the method."

Rebekah has been a Pilates Instructor since 2002 and has instructed group classes and private lessons in clinics, Pilates studios and fitness centers in Sydney and Las Vegas, working closely with health professionals. She has taught the Pilates method for rehabilitation not only to professional performers and athletes, but to clients with M.S, Parkinson?s disease and cerebral palsy, and many others who just had a desire to embark on their own inner journey in the Pilates Method.

Rebekah is fully certified and a member of the Pilates Alliance of Australasia and Pilates Method Alliance, U.S.A.

The Method turns the abdomen, lower back and hips into a firm central support for a newly supple and graceful body - Joseph Pilates
